2οΈAnalysis with Sidebar Questions
The following example demonstrates how multiple question types can be used in the same assignment.
The music is a screenshot captured from a public-domain PDF (sourced from the International Music Score Library Project) then assembled with the text instructions in a word processor. The document was exported as a PDF then uploaded to Rameau. The answer boxes were placed underneath the music using the right sidebar tools.
This assignment uses four question types:
Roman-numeral analysis (boxes underneath the music)
Essay question (first question in the left sidebar panel)
True/false and multiple choice (second and third questions in the left sidebar panel)
Short answer (fourth question in the left sidebar panel)
Go to sidebar questions for more information on question types.
The assignment preview below shows what the assignment would like to the student/user.
The image below shows hypothetical answers for the questions.
The roman numeral boxes are set to auto grade. The green boxes indicate correct answers. The red box indicates an incorrect answer (the student wrote the correct roman numeral but did not indicate the correct inversion). A grading rule could be applied to award zero, partial, or full credit. The instructor could also manually adjust the grade regardless of the rule being used.
The sidebar questions are colored according to grade type. If set to auto grade, as the second and third questions are, a correct (i.e., matching) answer will display a green border and receive full points. A red border indicates an incorrect answer.
The first and fourth sidebar questions have blue borders. This indicates that the instructor must manually assign a grade since auto grade was turned off.
Any answer box that is manually graded or adjusted from the given auto grade will display a yellow border or yellow fill color.
The instructor may also leave a comment on any question type. To do so, select the question and type the comment in the right sidebar. Click the Post Comment button to commit the comment. An orange circle will appear in the upper left corner of the question indicating a comment has been posted.
